The Alliance joins with Alcorn County and the State of Mississippi in celebrating the state’s economic development success by receiving the coveted Silver Shovel Award from "Area Development", an industry trade magazine covering site selection and facility planning. The two local projects which contributed to the state’s success are new industry Mission Forest Products ($160 million investment, 130 new jobs) and an expansion from Kimberly-Clark ($140 million investment, 33 new jobs).
